Luke "Allen" Allein grew up in Buffalo, NY. He moved to Los Angeles in 2004, initially working on movie sets in the camera dept. He was later relegated to the outer fringes of the entertainment industry, working in motion picture camera equipment rental. In his 30s, he began writing and producing comedy shorts/sketches for the Funny Or Die page "Weirdfellas," and also pursuing stand up comedy around LA as a hobby/creative outlet. The podcast began as a coping mechanism during his 25 mile commute (each way) to work, from the San Fernando Valley to Marina Del Rey, and the (on average) 5-7 hours he spent a day in traffic.

As of March 2016, Luke also became de facto photographer and general production assistant on the Kevin Pollak Chat Show Podcast, on Earwolf Media.
